354. Safe Harboring

I’m happy to tell you that tonight, my son Matthew was transferred in Harborview Hospital from the intensive care unit to a regular unit.

As always, the sophisticated care at that place is quietly, compassionately, and effectively performed.  He’s doing well – thanks to the people who are gently caring for him.

Our friend Linda Atkinson sent me the following. The photos were taken on her iPod.

“Angels…..Spirit……Mr. Billboardman….whoever it is…..someone is trying to get your attention to let you know that MATT is being well taken care of in one of the BEST HOSPITALS around!  Take a look at this photo!  I LOVE IT!

Thank you Angels for the SIGN that all is well at this moment!    Love, Linda”

Linda – ever practical – asked that since Matt is in good hands, does the sign mean that we should go to Baskin and Robbins Ice Cream shop for a treat?

I often mention Linda Atkinson in these blobs as our “friend”.  Actually, she’s a lot more.  Because she’s my son-in-law Brad’s sister, I sometimes refer to her as my daughter-in-law-once-removed.

I don’t know exactly how to explain Linda – or her charisma – probably nobody else can either. But whatever it is, I always know that, no matter what, she’s always at my side. And she always makes me, or somebody who’s suffering – feel better and more confident. It’s a gift! Way better than medicine.  Maybe she just gives us hope.

Thank you, Linda.

Wow, the timing and location of that billboard with the “BEST” hospitals is amazing. And yes, I think Octowoman should stop by for an ice cream treat soon too!

Oh, Pat…you are so sweet. I just hope you are comforted to know that Matt is well cared for. You have set a high standard! When we are in the thick of things we must remember to look “UP” every once in awhile to see if it is time to take an ice cream break…or if Heaven is trying to get our attention to let us know that we are on the right path! Actually, we could eat ice cream while walking on the path…hmmmm…sounds good to me! Always remember I am here if you need me. Love, Linda

P.S. ~ What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Baskin and Robbins for sure, especially since it’s right down the block in the picture. Let us know when you guys meet and we’ll have a party. Such good news about Matt.
